Guest guest
Our thoughts are with you and Liv . It is hard to express thoughts on how incredible you are at taking care of your daughter and so many children in North America. I hope to hear that this soon passes and you and Liv are onto new things. Writing on the internet is all words, but I find sometimes there aren't words and all I can say is that you and Liv are in our thoughts, and I know you will do the best with the information you have at hand as you navigate this and I wish I had some suggestions myself to help. Thank you so much for sharing and for helping. I hope we'll have an opportunity to talk again soon and I hope to hear how it goes. Best of luck, and a world of understanding to you and Liv. Guest guest
Thanks Shauna, Heidi and everyone. She will be examined by a doc here in Denver to make sure her hip joints are still ok (i know they are) and then we will proceed. She is used to pain, so she never complains...I have to drag it out of her. She is now acting like its all better, because she does NOT want to go back to SLC. Fun with my teenager! I wish we could continue acting like its all ok, but its not. Level 5 pain by days end is not good...Maybe the metal is hurting more because her pelvis is growing fast due to her adol. growth spurt and it will subside....(?) We're going day by day at this point. She's on her way to school, so thats positive! Thanks gals, HRH > Our thoughts are with you and Liv . Guest guest
You'll wonder why you waited so long after surgery. Most of us go through a period of healing and return to normal activity very soon. You will no longer have this pain and be able to walk normally. The longer you wait though the more you are risking because the bone is becoming more and more decayed by waiting. Guest guest
Hi Goldie, No one could be any more scared than I was to get my TWO knees fixed. I hadn't been near a hospital since I had my children. And most of the time I didn't go near MDs either. I couldn't walk across the street because I was afraid I couldn't get back. I could only go to stores that had motorized cars. I spent 6 months getting ready. I quit smoking. I got my house on the main level so I could get around in it. I read the " Book " about knee surgery and I got on here and read anything I could. I found the " right " Hospital for me. And a Surgeon I could work with. And then I closed my eyes and went into surgery, one knee at a time. It has been so worth it. And believe me when I say I was so scared. I was 69 at the time and I just turned 71. I have mostly healed. It does appear I will need a hip replacement in the near future. But I will do that without all the fear I had with the first knee. Do what ever you need to make yourself comfortable. And then do it. It is so worth it. Guest guest
Goldie, you will see messages posted here about people who have problems with their replacements. Don't let this scare you off. Just realize that there are hundreds even thousands of people who have replacements and never have a bit of trouble. This group is a source of help and companionship. I have been lucky and had quite a classic textbook replacement. I did not push my rehab. We each handle things differently. BARB in Florida HIP PAIN I want to thank you all for replying to my post, I have been reading the posts over and over, thank you so much for replying it helps me when I can read about others that have had a replacement ------------------------------------

Guest guest
Hello everyone, I am so thankful to all my friends who replied to my post about my hip pain, I took all the advice you all gave me and I finally called the Dr and got an appointment for this coming Thur, I cant believe all the advice I got from so many and it all helped ease my mind about hip surgery, I am trying to look on line about the different types of hip surgery but I guess I will have to wait till I see the Dr. and see what he says, I just want to check some things out before I talk to him about the different options if there are any. Again I am so thankful for all of you , you dont know how much I appreciate it. Have a Blessed Day.
Guest guest
Good for you! You may want to visit (and I recommend this) more than one surgeon. I interviewed three before I decided on the direct anterior approach. This is an important decision and you really want to be prepared and trust who you have chosen. Making that first step is huge Congratulations! You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it. Joint Replacement From: starwatch1900@...
