Guest guest
Margret, I do fine on 25mg or 50 mg pregnenolone daily. I think some subjectively-felt youth markers are further elevated with 50 mg than with 25 mg. Libido, lust for life, recovery, etc seem to be further enhanced. Same for Jo but she's on 50 mg all the time because she has that metabolic slump surrounding 16 years of fibromyalgia. all good, Duncan > > Curious Duncan, I've been taking pregnenolone for over a year, how much pregnenolone do you take daily? > > > Blessings, Margaret > >
Guest guest
Thanks Duncan.....I'm taking 50 a day, 25 am, 25 pm---don't know why I split up the dose, but when I put myself on I read everything possible about it and found 1/2 recommended am dose, 1/2 recommended pm dose, so I split it up and have been doing that for over a year........curious--when do you recommend taking the doses? Guest guest
Margaret, we're only fairly consistent with our supplements. My wife Jo won't get them out so we get 'em when or if I happen to realize we haven't taken them that day. Frequently we skip a day, and if we do I take 50 mg pregnenolone the next day. We've never felt a difference by splitting doses but we do feel a difference when we skip a couple of days. all good, Duncan > > Thanks Duncan.....I'm taking 50 a day, 25 am, 25 pm---don't know why I split up the dose, but when I put myself on I read everything possible about it and found 1/2 recommended am dose, 1/2 recommended pm dose, so I split it up and have been doing that for over a year........curious--when do you recommend taking the doses? > > > Blessings, Margaret > > >
Guest guest
Dr. Ray Sahelian thinks high doses of Pregnenolone can possibly be dangerous. http://www.raysahelian.com/pregnenolone.html 1) " I do not feel comfortable with the high dosages of DHEA and pregnenolone sold over the counter. I think a maximum of 5 or 10 mg is acceptable. Hormones are powerful substances that have significant short and long-term effects. They can be very helpful if used appropriately but can cause serious harm if misused. One of the side effects is heart palpitations or arrhythmias. Use hormones in low doses and for short periods of time. Take frequent breaks which I call 'hormone holidays'. Use natural alternatives to hormones whenever possible. " 2) DO NOT TRUST ANYONE WHO SAYS PREGNENOLONE IS SAFE IN HIGH DOSES Do not rely on blood or saliva testing to determine how much pregnenolone to take since you should not be taking more than 5 mg a few times a week anyway -- unless you have a proven adrenal gland dysfunction and an endocrinologist monitors you. > > > > > > Blessings, Margaret
Guest guest
I felt a BIG difference when I first started taking the pregnenolone.....after just a few days, much more energy, alterness! I stopped for about a week-week and a half recently cause I ran out, started again, and noticed I didn't feel any difference for that 1-1.5 weeks I was off, which left me wondering, as a hormone, how long it stays in your system once you start supplementing?......doesn't seem like it's one of those where you can feel from " day to day " , at least not for me...... happy to hear EVERYone's prone to not wanting to doll out the supplements--LOL.......I usually doll out for 2 weeks at a time cause I get tired of of " portioning " them all out too......so once I am finished with the 2 weeks, well, sometimes it takes me a week to get back on track---LOL Blessings, Margaret
Guest guest
I read the Sahelian article as part of my due diligence before I started dosing. Seems his fear is a theoretical construct that has not been widely propagated, and in fact nobody seems to be getting " too much " preg even at a daily dose of 50-150 mg or 10x-30x his figure. Anyone who shares his concern can certainly bite the pills and take less, but it's an anti-aging tool especially to the elderly, so I doubt they will. I didn't. all good, Duncan > > Dr. Ray Sahelian thinks high doses of Pregnenolone can possibly be dangerous. > > http://www.raysahelian.com/pregnenolone.html >
Guest guest
There are people on the web who are supposed experts. Ray Sahellian is one of the people I whose warnings I read, but then I do more research and discover Ray seems a bit paranoid to me.
