Guest guest
Hello everyone! I apologize I did not write sooner but I was a bit thrown by what happened with my RTKR that was scheduled for Monday. I got a call around 8PM Sunday night. It was the hospital calling to tell me that my surgery had been cancelled. My doc had gone to Colorado and evidently they have been having a really bad snow storm. When he tried to leave on Sunday, all flights out were cancelled. That meant that he would not be able to make it back in time to do my surgery. I was really thrown by the change. On Monday I was able to have my surgery rescheduled for this Friday at 3PM. I hope that this surgery is not changed. I don't know if I could go through another change. I probably sound like a big baby, I apologize for that. I guess it took me a lot of nerve to change the surgery for one where they were just going to scope my knee to having a total knee done. The doc kept telling me I really just needed to have the knee replaced and to stop trying to buy time... that it would be best to have it done now. He was right but with all this time to re-think things, I was almost going to ask him to scope my knee first and then if it looked really bad.. then do the replacement otherwise, go with just cleaning it out. I know, it would be dumb to do that so now I am just trying not to think so much about it and keep myself busy so I am not so upset. Guest guest
Oh Eileen, how frustrating! I can't imagine having the surgery cancelled the night before. Believe me, the waiting is the worst part! I'm 5 weeks post RTKR. It's been hard but I'm glad I had it done. I had a scope last year and really didn't help much at all. I hope your surgery goes as planned this time. I think once you get it done you'll be glad you did it. > > Hello everyone! > I apologize I did not write sooner but I was a bit thrown by what > happened with my RTKR that was scheduled for Monday. Guest guest
Eileen, I can't imagine how you must feel. I was such a wreck before my surgery and to have it cancelled would have been awful. My heart goes out to you.
