Guest guest
Hi Mitzi I don't know how much to give a 5-year-old, it's based on weight. However you are likely to need to give much less than your doctor prescribes, still kill the fever and not have the agressive side effects. Look in the archives for posts from Ginger Hacket - she posted her formula to know how much to give several times, about a year or two ago. Take care Inga
Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I gave my son his first dose of Predisone last Thursday...fevers come usually 21 days apart...Although the fever was gone within the first 3 hours...it has come back today which is only 6 days later. I am so upset..As usual everytime a fever comes on, I cry...Hopefully it's due to that I am 9 months pregant again and everything is magnified. I called my doctor and they want me to give him another dose of it today. Do you think this is what I should do? Should I let it run it's course? Could this mean that this is NOT and something more serious...seems it came on way too quick....I've heard of 11 days sooner but no so much as a week later. Please anyone answer me...I am devastated....Assure me that my kid will grow out of this...HE IS 18 months and I feel like I have been dealing with this forever....twice a month fevers for 4 dayss...no other symptoms......HELP. Guest guest
prednisone has been shown to reduce the time in between fevers. i've never read by how many days it does, but it seems to make the fevers come closer for a lot of people. all i've read says to keep using it and they will eventually spread back out again, but please connect with your doctor to discuss as I am not a doctor. Guest guest
, I'm sorry for you! I know it's beyond stressful - hang in there though it will get better one day. My son is 6 and has been fevering since 2. I started giving steriods and the fevers came MUCH closer. Sometimes like 3-4 days later. But I still kept on the steriods. I would think it's still 6 days later is the symptoms are the same. The steriods can cause the fevers to come more often. I think if the fever came back later that day, or the next day then I would take to the doctor to rule out other things. But at this point, uless you are suspicious of other things, I would try the steriods again if it were my son. BUT you have to listen to your instinct - cause a mom's instinct is powerful! Hang in there! Guest guest
Several times my son had what I call a rebound fever- 3-4 days after the predisone dose. We did dose him again and he would go two to three weeks after that episode. I know what you mean about the feeling like crying. We have dealt with this for two years and feel recently things have gotten better- 7 weeks since last episode which had a rebound episode. > > Hi Kathy, > I gave my son his first dose of Predisone last Thursday...fevers come usually 21 days apart...Although the fever was gone within the first 3 hours...it has come back today which is only 6 days later. Guest guest
I can help with prednisolone information; this drug, often given for bowel issues, is listed with bowel perforation as a main side effect. Bowel dysbiosis can be treated with an anti-candida diet; all steroids do is suppress inflammation while accelerating the damage. Same for arthritis treatment with the same drug class. all good, Duncan > > can anyone help me with addres for 1mg predisolone on line pharmacy > maria >
