this sounds horrific! Are you going to the same surgeon

each time? If so I would be getting several opinions from others. Are you

having an MRI done for this or just XRays? I agree that $180 is not money

you want to throw away, but you really should use that money for outside

opinions. I know this has to be disheartening and hope that you can find

help pronto!

I do believe you are worth the $180.00 doctor appt. you need to be seen

assp. I would cut corners in my budget if necessary to get the money.

Hi ,

I'm so sorry that you're having to go through all this again and so soon after

the last revision. I'm sorry I don't have any great advise for you but I do

think you should just trust your instincts. You know your body better than

anyone and you've been through so many replacements and revisions already that

if you think something is wrong then chances are there is.

I know how frustrating it is having tests come back normal and a doctor having

doubts but you have to stay firm.

Also, another issue if I remember correctly is that the surgeon is a far ride.

If so you might just be better off with the one trip.

Good luck,

Jeff

Can someone tell me what to do. ? or what they would do.?

I had my 4th hip revision last November when the cage that was holding it in,

broke and the hip fell dislocated. twice....

the revision went very well and i am happy with the outcome.

3 months or so after the revision my right hip replacement(16 years) has been

giving me grief some times a lot some times a little. I told the surgeon and I

had every conceivable diagnostic test known to man kind, with " NOTHING " showing.

I have also had everything else tested and nothing, I have had 5 hip

replacements, I know what is hip pain and what isn't. its not my knee its not my

back, the question is I have an appointment to see the surgeon next Tuesday, and

I really don't think there is any point going, at a cost of $180.00..

wouldn't I be better postponing it for say another 6 months or so? I am going

there any way as I have to see the shoulder man same building, same

day...

I am depressed I have pain in it. depressed the surgeon doesn't think there's

anything wrong, depressed I am wasting time and money for him to say go away.

thanks x

Thanks Jeff. Its just like history repeating itself and I have gone back 20

years

When I first had my scuba accident, and nothing showed up, in the end I had

to beg the surgeon to

Trust his clinical judgement and go from there, and that was the right thing

to do,

As when the first joint came out, AVN was visible to the naked eye

Confirmed in pathology and nothing showed on scans or x-rays,

I often think the doctors rely on imaging too much.

thanks for your kind thoughts x

Hey fellow aussie

No words can fix things for you , but we are thinking of you. This is such

a kind and thoughtful group and I have found the words of encouragement that

have been sent are deeply sincere. One day you'll have to make it to Sydney and

we can limp along together.

I couldn't believe I was reading you were having problems again.  I am so

sorry.  You have been there and back.  I do hope you find out what is

happening and get some relief.

I am sending a general message to the group that I  have a new email address

for those who keep an address book.  It is

twomido@...

It was

I am deliberately not making the old one work.

I am sorry that you are going through this, all I can say is go.

Being Canadian I have no idea how your system works but if possible get

a second opinion if he does tell you nothing is wrong. Maybe politely

(sacrasm) remind the surgeon that not everything is black and white

going through something similar I know how frustrating it all is.

Depressing - defintely but just remember that even though it seems

terrible now eventually it will get better because it has too.
