Guest guest
Which approach did you have? I had direct anterior approach and was back to work in 5 weeks. I did get an infection at about the 3 week mark because I am allergic to the internal stitches they used. I had some swelling for the first couple weeks, but as soon as the incision was healed it wasn't so obvious any more. I would think that if you have an approach where muscle or tendons were cut the recovery time is alot longer from what I hear on this board. Guest guest
I had swelling also , when I went to therapy the man said to start massaging the area around the incision then later on start massaging the incision it self once it is healed this really helped the swelling went down . Guest guest
I would vote for caution on putting pressure or massaging the incision until it has healed. I put pressure with my fingers along my incision each day per my PT's instructions (after a few weeks) and I don't know whether that is the reason, but my incision started to come open in two places.
