Guest guest
Just curious, does anyone on this board know anyone who has had a total hip (or know someone ) last over 20 yrs? If so how long has it lasted and if know what materials are involved and who made the prosthesis?
Guest guest
I work with someone who had a THR 15 years ago. He says he's starting to have minor problems with it. Don't know any of the particulars about brand or anything.

Guest guest
I have two THRs that are 18 months old. I'm sure hoping for them to last a longer period than 16 years. Haven't new technology and materials added to the longevity of THRs? Guest guest
Yes Judy new Technology that's been available for the last few years sure beats what was around 16 years ago. It also depends on the age you were having it done, and your activity level too. When I had my shoulder done in Feb at age 55 he told me I would probably require one more if I live to an old age. -- Longest lasting THR > > Just curious, does anyone on this board know anyone who has had a total hip > (or know someone ) last over 20 yrs?
