Guest guest
As you know, I was able to reverse a long standing case of Periodontal Disease that had been resistant to brushing, flossing, and the use of a waterpik. I was able to reverse it with Oil Pulling and continue to use it to prevent a reoccurrence as I seem to be particularly susceptible. I realize, however, that some have a problem with keeping oil in the mouth for any length of time, can be inconvenient or even distasteful to some. Recently, however, I came upon two simple therapies that may work just as well. If anyone here has a problem that other procedures haven't helped you can give them a try. The first is the topical use of CoQ10: http://tinyurl.com/46o5uuh Effect of topical application of Coenzyme Q10 on adult periodontitis T. Haniokaa, M. Tanakaa, M. Ojimaa, S. Shizukuishia and K. Folkersb a Department of Preventive Dentistry, Osaka University Faculty of Dentistry, 1–8, Yamadaoka, Suita, Osaka 565, Japan b Institute for Biomedical Research, University of Texas at Austin, Texas, USA Abstract Topical application of Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) to the periodontal pocket was evaluated with and without subgingival mechanical debridement. . . . These results suggest that topical application of CoQ10 improves adult periodontitis not only as a sole treatment but also in combination with traditional nonsurgical periodontal therapy. To do this you can open a capsule of liposomal Q10 and smear it onto the gums. The second method just came yesterday in my Women's Health Newsletter from Dr. Nan Fuchs who discovered the method on her own. Here is what she wrote: quote: " Mouthwash, toothpaste, and flossing don't always help, but this does. My mouth used be a disaster. And nothing seemed to help. I brushed, flossed, and used antibacterial mouthwash religiously. I avoided sugar. And I went to the dentist every few months to get my teeth cleaned professionally. Yet despite all this care, I still had lots of plaque on my teeth. I still got cavities - as many as a dozen at a time! And I still got swollen gums. Whenever I brushed my teeth, my gums would bleed so much that I could taste it. I was afraid I'd end up losing my teeth, just like my mother had. Then one day I stumbled upon a solution that completely eradicated my problems. Now my gums no longer bleed. I have almost no plaque. The re, inflamed gums I once had are now a light, healthy, pink color. At my last check up the pockets around my teeth were shallower than ever (5s became 2s and 3s). And best of all, this transformation ocurred in just 2 weeks! So what caused this amazing transformation? Nothing more than an ordinary probiotic supplement. " Because she knew that probiotics are healthy bacteria that are used to keep down levels of bad bacteria in the digestive tract she decided to give them a try in her mouth. Here is how she did this: continueed: " Take one or two capsules of probiotics and hold them in your mouth until they're soft. Then bite them enough to squeeze out a little of the contents. Move the contents with your tongue to the base of your teeth, both inside and outside. Don't rinse. Allow the paste to dissolve. After you swallow it, you'll also have the beneficial bacteria in your digestive tract, too. Try it; you'll be amazed. " end quote I tried this myself this morning just to see what it felt/tasted like. Quick, easy, and taste was good. And you can easily spit out the capsule afterward. As quoted by Dr. Lew Fong How: " Sir Osler was the first to refer to the mouth as the " mirror " of the body. Early signs of many of the common degenerative diseases, nutritional deficiencies, and disease of metabolism are seen intraorally before they are physically apparent elsewhere. Guest guest
Thanks, Dee, for sharing this information. My son and myself are going to give this a try when we take our probiotics as we struggle with gum pocket issues. > > quote: " Mouthwash, toothpaste, and flossing don't always help, but this does. > > My mouth used be a disaster. Guest guest
This is interesting information. Is there a brand of probiotic that would be superior for this? > > quote: " Mouthwash, toothpaste, and flossing don't always help, but this does. > > My mouth used be a disaster.
