My longer than I expected recovery got me curious.

Has anyone had both hips replaced at different times with the same surgeon

and same type of appliance and had vastly different recovery experiences.

I wouldn't say VASTLY different experiences, but definitely not identical

recoveries.

Could you be more specific in what you are curious about?

I was thinking of an after the fact experiment. I know some people recover

faster than others. I figured my question might give me an idea of how a

surgeons technique might matter, but I now realize that even with one person

there could be many other factors.

I am almost a 7 weeks. I can walk without a cane, but I don't feel like

walking far. I have a slight limp and my operated leg feels longer than my

other leg - but not as pronounced as few weeks ago.

I got the ok from the doc to take a 5 hour flight, so I guess I am doing

pretty good.

BTW - does anyone know if other states will honor my temporary handicapped

sticker?

Good luck and good limping

,

Off hand I would say they should. I have a full time placard and have

used it in other states with no problem. Mind you, I did not ask a

policeman if I could I just took it with me and placed on the mirror

of the rental car.

I would think just go about your business and don't worry about it.
