You might want to rethink hip resurfacing as the latest studies recommend the

procedure only for healthy men under 65 - not for women

There are of course women with the procedure who had excellent outcomes -

statistics only provides for statistically greater or lesser risk.

I don't think the benefit of hip resurfacing is level of activity - many people

with replacement have no issues with activity restriction especially with the

larger head devices. I had the anterior approach which does not cut muscle so

there is little risk of dislocation after surgery and I had no restrictions on

type of activity.

There is a doctor in downtown LA who is considered one of the " founders " of

resurfacing in the US. There is a group on called surfacehippies that is

devoted to people planning or having had the procedure.
