Pain following Partial Knee Replacement

I just had a unicompartmental knee replacement this past Monday. I came home on

Tuesday and have had home visits from PT and a nurse - all has seemed to be

going well, they both say I am ahead of schedule on my progress. I started using

a cane yesterday instead of the walker, and even took a walk down the block and

back today with little difficulty. I do however get severe stabbing pain at

times when I even slightly turn my knee, bad enough that I cry out. I told the

PT about it today, and she noted it, but I seem to be doing so well otherwise

she was not concerned. She will be back Monday. She also told me I could pretty

much stop on the passive motion machine, or cut back to 1/2 hour twice a day

just to warm it up. I am scared to death this surgery may not be a success - I

have already been through an unsuccessful scope and several injections, I was so

ready for this surgery and to be pain free finally. Is sharp pain like this

common after surgery, and can I expect it to get better with a little more time?

And should I keep on the machine longer?
