Guest guest
Usually when I have gotten that far on the pain scale they go in and clean things up, scar tissue, bone fragments, and debur. Also, on the remark of the MRI, my meniscal tare from 1996 or my CP neither one showed up on an MRI. Exploratory surgery then fixing has been my luck. Guest guest
I am the same way, but I can walk and sit relatively pain free. If it doesn't get any worse, I will not consider another operation. The one thing that concerns me is that I still need to take Vioxx and Glucosamine to keep the pain and inflammation under control, five months after surgery. Guest guest
My OS told me to never kneel again after my surgery. It puts a lot of pressure on the underside of the kneecap. I confess that I have knelt a few times, but always Very Carefully, and always on a couple of pillows, or my bed. Even those gardening pads aren't enough. And I'm also very careful how I get up. Ann knee It seems that I am once again unable to kneel, and that I can't even bump or touch my knee cap very hard without it hurting me lots. Has this happened to any of you?? Did it result in another surgery?
Guest guest
I wish NSAIDS would keep the CP pain down in my knee. It doesn't do a thing for me. knee > It seems that I am once again unable to kneel, and that I can't even > bump or touch my knee cap very hard without it hurting me lots. Guest guest
Guess it beats being sprawled out on the sidewalk and unable to put any weight on the leg at all. I'm back to work three months after going prone on the sidewalk. My knee usually starts to feel better after it snaps/pops once or twice. No grinding though. Hopefully it will continue to improve. I'm trying the glucosamine tabs to keep the other knee from acting up. Ibuprofen to lessen the pain in the bad one. I figure I didn't have much choice about the surgery. Either that or a chair with wheels. mack > " cocacolaclassic72 " <cocacolaclassic72@y...>Subject: KNEE > > HI IM NEW HERE A MONTH AGO I HAD ARTHSCOPY SERGERY THE NEXT DAY I WAS > WALKING AND WENT BACK TO WORK A WEEK LATER BUT I FELL NO DIFFERENT MY > KNEE STILLS CLICKS AND GRINDS AND HURTS TO WALK UP STEPS MY LEFT KNEE > IS NO BETTER THEY SAID I HAVE A DISFURIGERD KNEE? Guest guest
Grade 4 osteochondrial lesion. The Doc says, " You've got a divot on your knuckle " . I saw pictures of it after the scope job, but couldn't really tell what I was looking at. It didn't look good :-) . Plus torn medial meniscus. Long range fix is TKR. Guest guest
Nope, IANAD. Probably takes a while for the synovial fluid to build up, and once it does, the joint works better/quieter after lubrication. Guest guest
Hi , Being a compulsive sort of person I promised myself that I¹d do my exercises for A WHOLE YEAR. You can just imagine how that came out. When I very occasionally check, I still have the (full) range of motion I had when I lost interest in the whole business. Guest guest
Hi , I haven¹t continued with the therapy stretches. If anything I have more range motion through my normal activities and exercise, as my doc said I would. I use the stationary bike, do an occasional ride outdoors ‹ just starting training for a long ride, walk, and do my gym stuff (which does include a couple of the same things I did in therapy). But no stretching. The exception is when I¹ve been kind of inactive or at the computer too long. Then I do some of the stretches because I¹ve stiffened up. Peace, jackie -- Jackie on Jackiett@... Guest guest
Absolutely do my exercises - have increased their intensity so that I continue to get stronger. Yes, I do feel that I lose range of motion if I knock off for a few days and don't do them. Guest guest
How long should you wait before having the second knee done. There were no doctors in this area that would do both. My left was not hardly as bad as the right but it is and was just as painful. It has been 7 weeks and I still have a lot of pain. A lot of pain in my right hip and right foot. The hip is not the joint as much as the groin area and this has been going on for some time. Xrays showed a lot of arthritic changes but not so much at the joint. I suppose my Dr will tell me when it is been long enough to do the other but I wanted other's opinions. Thanks SherryHH

Guest guest
Sherry, my OS told me that when hip replacement is needed the pain will be in the groin area.... not the outside of the hip or in your back/bum area.......that type pain is caused by something else... not hip joint......BARB in Florida Knee How long should you wait before having the second knee done. Guest guest
You i think can get a cortisone injection into that anterior portion of the hip too but that i think requires that you get a proper diagnosis and a prescription from your ortho doc and that one might have to be done by a specially trained radiologist who will use an Ultrasound to guide the placement of the cortisone injection. I was to hsve one of thst type but sensed it might be capable of improving on its own if i gave it rest and more time and i was lucky that it did just that. Guest guest
When I had my first knee done, there was a woman, a nurse who knew what she was going to experience, who had her second knee done at her six week check up. I was really surprised that she would do so. She only had 12 weeks off of work so the back to back surgeries were necessary. After my first knee, I said that I would never do my second knee because the pain was unbearable. But at about 5 months later, my right (not replaced knee) started hurting more than my left TKR knee. I saw that relief from pain was possible after TKR and I scheduled my second surgery. I had the first one done 12/17/2010 and the second one 7/20/2011 and I am doing very well. You don't get to enjoy the relief of a TKR until you get get both of them done. Although I am still working hard to get more flexion, I am approaching something like normalcy for the first time in 15 years. It is wondeful having both of them done. My left was not hardly as bad as the right but it is and was just as painful. It has been 7 weeks and I still have a lot of pain. A lot of pain in my right hip and right foot. >> My Dr said he wouldn't replace the second knee for 2 months after the first one was done.. he said it takes that long for you body to get back to where it was before the first surgery.. I had one knee done Oct 2010 and called for the second one to be done in Dec thinking I could get it done right away.. but there was still a 2 month wait so had it done in Feb 2011.. had I known I would have that 2 month wait again I would have called as soon as I got home from the first one.. I was still ok to take a planned vacation by bus for a long week the middle of May this year.. I can't say enough good things about the replacements... they are a God send for getting back walking pain free.. I no longer park in the nearest handicapped parking place, and now that I have built some stamina back up I can walk farther then I have walked in 5 yrs..
