Guest guest
Bully good for you ! I think a lot of us agree with your oppinion on pain meds. I know I do. We hurt, we have a LOT of healing to do, we NEED pain med help to see us through the PT. I'd love to know numbers on how many actually get adicted to pain meds after joint replacement. I think the low amount would surprise us all - especially the over caucious doctors. God love em, they are most certainly simply trying to do what's best for their patients, but have missed the mark by cutting pain meds off too soon. I was surprised the other day when I asked my son to get me my Orthocodone. It had been at least a few weeks since I'd taken any, but I had overdone it, and was in quite a bit of pain in my theigh muscle up next to the knee. I asked him how many pills I had left - aftaid that the report would come back of only a few left. There was almost half a bottle left. Our bodies will tell us what we need. We all had joint replacement to stop hurting, but it's a long recovery. Don't let your self be guilted into not using the pain meds.
