Guest guest
I'm looking at this PT handbook and I can't do any of the stuff listed, and certainly can't HOLD them for 10 seconds. I feel like I'm way behind the curve on this recovery stuff. Surgery was pretty brutal, so glad that's over and done, but the knee is so swollen, PT is impossible. Supposed to have first in-home PT today, so I'll see what they do. Can't get leg up to get back into bed...any hints? I can lay back and hook the other foot under it and move it partways, but difficult to get it all the way up. Just tired all the time,,no appetite. What are you guys eating to get your strength back? Nothing sounds good. Thanks for your help. > > Lynn, ABSOLUTELY! I've heard from several medical people that it can take at least a month to get the general anesthesia out of your system. Plus, for every day you're in the hospital, it takes at least TWO days to recover. My OT in Rehab told me that. It takes awhile, but you will build your stamina back up to where it used to be. If not better. Just remember, everyone's different. We all heal at different rates. Don't rush yourself. And, listen to your body! Rest when you need to, exercise when you feel good, etc. > > Best of luck! > > > Tammy Klaus > tammy.kl@... > > >
