Guest guest
to all the group members: I had lateral hip replacement ten months ago and still limping with pain during walking or moving the leg. The operation was due to a slight fall from a floor half standing position which lead to a crack in the left femur neck(i am 60 yeaars old). The new joint is metal to polythelene joint. in addition to home exercises i made physio therapy at the hospital after 3 months for 3 times a week which is not different from the home exercises except thermo water.and since thenin parallel i continued additional exercises(when no pain) at a sports center using some jakosi , bike and some machines to strenthen thigh muscles. Until now i feel severe knee pain(at the lower front part of the knee) in my surgery leg when i start walking from sitting or sleeping or driving position which hinders me from stepping during bearing. This pain continues for several steps otherwise i have not to start walking and wait standing for around two minutes untill pain releives . sometimes i walk inside my home properly without cane with very slight pain and very slight limp, and sometimes i cannot walk unless i use the cane due to pain in the hip and muscles of my thigh. all x-rays are good as my doc said and he mentioned that there is no relation between the knee pain and the operation although i never felt any hip or knee pain before the THR . and the operation is technically correct as another doc said. I would be very grateful for any advice. best wishes. Mustafa
Guest guest
Hi Mustafa, I¹m with that another medical opinion is in order. You need to know what is causing this pain and what can be done to relieve it. So sorry you are having to go through this and hope relief will be on its way. Peace, Jackie -- Jackie on Jackiett@...
