Guest guest
I had my THR surgery four weeks ago after fighing it for ten years until the pain became unbearable. I also have severe degenerative arthritis of the spine with advanced spinal stenosis at multiple levels. I have used a Far Infrared heating pad for my back for years and it has helped my back and arthritis greatly. I wondered if any members of the group have used the Far Infrared with a hip or knee implant or if there is any contraindication to using it since it can heat internally. Otherwise, I am extremely happy with the hip replacement and am walking without a cane and only a slight limp at four weeks post-op. I plan to keep up Physical Therapy until my surgeon tells me I do not need it any more and anticipate a full recovery. Thanks for any help you can give me, C
Guest guest
I was told not to use a heating pad on my knee after surgery. I did use it on my calf muscles however. in TX From: nitrobid2000 <nitrobid2000@...> Subject: Far Infrared Heating Pad and Total Hip Replacement Joint Replacement Date: Sunday, March 6, 2011, 6:17 PM  I had my THR surgery four weeks ago after fighing it for ten years until the pain became unbearable.
