This was an issue that was brought up at many of the forums held by the Ohio Autism Taskforce and addressed in the recommendations. The attendance of agencies and individuals interested in transportation coordination is strongly encouraged. The Task Force is seeking your input on the following questions: • In what ways could public transit and human service agency transportation coordination be improved or initiated in Ohio?• Are existing state and local transportation resources adequate to meet transportation needsin your region?• What are the benefits of coordination?• What are the obstacles to coordination?• What coordination efforts are happening in local communities in Ohio?• What actions should the State of Ohio take related to transportation coordination? The Ohio Statewide Transportation Coordination Task Force is comprised of members from the following agencies: Ohio Department of Aging, Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, Ohio Department of Mental Health, Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission, Governor’s Council on People with Disabilities, Ohio Developmental Disabilities Planning Council, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Richland County Regional Planning Commission, and the Ohio Department of Transportation. The information gathered at these forums will be used in the development of an Ohio Strategic Action Plan for Transportation Coordination that will be implemented by the Task Force. Coordination Forums will be coming to your region soon. Please RSVP as soon as possible as space is limited. Registration will be from 8:30-9:00 a.m. each day. The forums will take place from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Please come prepared with information related to the discussion questions that you would like to share. There is no cost to attend the forums.
