Guest guest
IMHO it would be wrong of a surgeon to replace a joint when a person is still able to do extreme sports.. Especially at 56 yrs. Most patients are either at the end of their tether can't go on like it and are in quite a lot of pain , And can't live like it any longer. When I had AVN... I cried and sobbed in fact.. That I couldn't live in this pain any longer I was 37, Had to give up some things but I already given them up any way, you just re focus on something else. -- RE: EXTERNAL: RE: Re: SynVisc I'm seeing alot of responses and tend to agree with the questions. If you are still able to do these sports, then you most likely aren't in enough pain yet. Most of us who have opted for surgery chose the option or chance at a pain free life. Eventually the reality that you are no longer able to do such sports may sink in. I understand postponing surgery if you haven't been compromised, but you will eventually reach a whole new level and find that you become fairly disabled. This was when I decided that being able to walk and bike again would be a better option over running since I was at a point where I couldn't do much of anything. You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it. ------------------------------------
