Guest guest
I think we can all benefit from knowing that there is light at the end of the surgery tunnel and that almost always the recovery is slower than what we anticipate/hope. I've often wondered why doctors don't provide/refer us to more psychological counseling pre-surgery, so that we are better prepared for slow days or months, rather than being mentally knocked down by them. Personally, I had a THR in 2005 and every day,for two years, when I stood on my new hip and bent forward,I mentally (and physically) cringed at the crackling -slash -grinding that my MIND expected to feel. I had to mindfully force myself through a bigger range of motion to break this mental limitation. Through yoga, meditation and breathing exercises, I worked through it. Does anyone out there have some inspiring stories of recovery breakthroughs during recovery? Let's have it Penny www.pennyhoff.com
