Subject: Medical Bills and Taxes

Hello All,

Just setting in the aftermath of the Blizzard of 2011 here in Indiana doing my

taxes..

On HRBLOCK.COM. there is a deduction in the itemized section about out-of-pocket

medical expense.. Does this expense have to be Bills that I have already paid?

Or can it be Bills that I've accumilated through the year that my insurance

didn't pay and I haven't either (DEBT).?

Thanks, Bill in Snowy Indiana

I think you would need receipts of payment to back up the deductions. BARB

Any deduction need to be out of your control by midnight 12/31. To that to

happen the least allowable is postmarked by then.
