Scientists hope that earlier detection may allow them to alter the course of brain development in these children. Hi everyone! I just heard news that I thought I wouldn't hear until I was an old lady. Researchers have found abnormal proteins, metabolites, etc in the blood of children with autism that may be used in the future in newborns to detect autism. I'm excited about this! Treatment could start before any symptoms arise!! Course, it's all in the future, but it's encouraging to know that progress is being made!! Here is the link to the conference abstracts. It's amazing to read what is on the cutting edge of research!! http://www.cevs.ucdavis.edu/Cofred/Public/Aca/WebSec.cfm?confid=211 & webid=1128 Marotta
