Guest guest
When I was told about the smaller surgery to clean out the knees, the doctor did say it was only going to buy me some time and that it helped some patients but not all. I figured why bother? I'd be better off to just get it done and over with. I needed two complete knee replacements and I didn't see any reason to keep waiting. When I told him that, he agreed but said some patients have reason to wait or are just not ready. He took x-rays and told me my knees needed replacing...but he also told me to let him know when I was ready to do it. It took me only about another 6 months to realize it was the best thing for me to go ahead and do. I asked him if he could do both at once. He said for some people he will....not for all. He said I was a good candidate for bilateral TKR. [Norton AntiSpam] New to the group > > > > My doctor suggested that I try Orthovisc injections, one a week for 3 weeks. Did anyone have luck with these? It seems like there is so much to learn if I end up having TKR. I would like to believe that the injections will work but I think I am headed for the surgery as my knee is almost bone on bone on the medial side and the kneecap is also involved. > > > > > >
