Guest guest
dear hippies.... im 8 weeks out from my RTHR and 7 months out from having the LTHR revised...before the february surgery i was ill for many months with metallosis and extreme pain as a result of the acetabular component being completely unattached to the bone. had just six months to recover from that revision before my right one was done... both now have acetabular parts that screw directly into my pelvis...and after both surgeries i was non weight bearing for 6-8 weeks. SO im learning to walk again, with both sides and doing pretty intense pt. my question is this...im feeling lousy all over, very tired, headaches that are constant and recently a very upset GI track. seems like my stomach hurts all the time, and whatever i eat doesn't agree with me... ANy clues, hints...ideas from you fellow sufferers?? i'd be grateful for your wisdom. celaine
Guest guest
I recommend having bloodwork done. It may or may not have anything to do directly with the surgeries, but it could be something that has happened to your body as a result of the surgeries. I've never been good at guessing when my body is not cooperating. I've found out quite a bit with saliva and blood testing for various different things that have gone wrong. I am so sorry you've gone through all this. I hope you can find yourself healthier soon! Guest guest
Dr. told me it can take a year to get everything back to normal. You also could have a low necessary blood component like iron. Dr. Told me during hip surgery you loose a lot of blood and that could be the problem. Since my THR and TKR I have had acid reflux and am on meds for that. Also had bad case of restless leg and am on meds for that too! You need a thorough blood test and check up for acid reflux. I think some of the meds they use to put you out disrupt you system in a major way. ________________________________ From: Weal <goddessrenee@...> Joint Replacement Sent: Wednesday, October 12, 2011 10:10 AM Subject: Re: GI upset? Guest guest
You may ask your dr if the pain medication you are taking are NSAIDs - they are famous for stomach irritation. Aspirin, Aleve and many others are in this group.
