Guest guest
ine, please don't feel guilty about starting a dispute. You have been through so much and I admire you tremendously. I just felt bad for you to have your honest feelings used against you. From now on, I won't defend anyone and will mind my own business. Guest guest
Well I feel that all these ill feelings have stemed from what I posted to the group about feelings 'from my heart'... I did not take offense to what Micheal said, i did get up set with some of the things he said, but he is still entitled to his opinion and I said that in my last post to the group... I am sorry for being the cause of this agruement and now the possible slanging match that is brewing. Please everyone don't fight over other peoples comments.....we are ALL entitle to have our say.... I will not from now on post anything that I am feeling to this group..... I will use this group only for offering support to others .... SORRY. ine.
Guest guest
ine... I hope you don't mean this: I will not from now on post anything that I am feeling to this group..... It will destroy the purpose of a group such as this if this happens. You DID NOT CAUSE anything.... We are all (to varying degrees) affected mentally by the mere presence of this disease, whether as the patient or the spouse. But we must all learn to accept others opinions and perspectives, and to phrase OURS, without trying to change the others. Each of us needs to know how others feel and do things in order to decide how WE will do things... Merril
Guest guest
I understand this Merril, and I didn't give anyone a hard time about their opinions, if I didn't want to hear everyones opinions I would not have posted to the group... I am happy for everyone to have their say, but when it starts to become an arguement of negative opinions and angriness well since I have been in this group, this is the first time I have seen people get bitter with each other about someone else opinion, I didn't post to this group for that to happen.. I was very upset when I sent that post... I felt I had made bad carma in this group ) I will retract it... I like all of your opinions, even if I don't agree with them all....it is like getting advice when you become a new mum, your take some of it chewing it up, let it sink in if you don't like it, spit it out.....and get some more.. ))) now lets all get on with it... ine. ====================================== > From: Merril <allennco@...> > > ine... > I hope you don't mean this: > > I will not from now on post anything that I am feeling to this > group..... > > It will destroy the purpose of a group such as this if > this happens. Guest guest
Leigh, I am so happy that your family is improving and you have a wonderful, fantastic (on & on & on) husband. You are truly blessed. You are also a very strong lady that a lot of people (not meaning any here) could take a lesson from your strength. I hope for you and your family, the most wonderful Christmas and the best New Years ever. Love and hugs to all

Are you getting help with your babies during the day or handling them all by yourself????? They sound wonderful, with strong little personalities already. Don't worry about the crap with the photo, and rumour. I have been dealing with that sort of stuff for the past few months too, with many family members wiping me. The important thing is you have , who knows you, and trusts you. Anyway, how the hell could you have had time to have an affair while recovering and looking after your babies? It is too silly for words. Just put it out of your mind, it is not worth worrying over. loves you. You are both recovering, your babies are healthy, life is looking up! Look after yourself, so glad you are back! Love :-)

Guest guest
Denisa and everyone: I never said that a specific person was offended, but people have sent me email privately before, hoping to maintain Aisha's non-denomination group. I believe that it is a good idea, since we are all so diverse. We are all united in chronic illness, and I think that religion doesn't have to play into it. My example was that someone could say "so and so bless you" but that might offend someone else of a different religion. So....why not just avoid it all together? Am I the only one this makes sense to? Just because I send a reminder message, does not mean I am picking on you. I think celebrating holidays are fine, and well wishing is fine, but the line has to be drawn somewhere. My rule of thumb is to try to figure out if it may be offensive, if so, don't send it. Can't make everyone happy, but religion is a typical problem in the world that starts many fights and wars. Here, I see our religion as chronic illness or the care of ill people. Guest guest
The eye twitching is caused one or more of the electrodes being over driven. I got the same thing at my last mapping. The audi refined the settings and it went away. It happens when electrical current " leaks " from the electrode to the facial nerve which is very close. I noticed it a bit yesterday when on the phone - the ring tone made my eye go twitch-twitch---twitch twitch. I can live with it until the next mapping but it's not something that should be accepted as unavoidable. Guest guest
Yes, and (? LesDeb?)... My right eye twitched just a little bit with a specific frequency in the time period between my first and second MAPpings, I had meant to tell my audiologist at the second MAPping, but it went away over a few days, and it never returned, even with increased dynamic range (lower T and higher C levels)... so I never brought it up at the second MAPping. So I think this is just a temporary stimulation of the facial nerve which is very close to the auditory nerve where these two (and the vestibular nerve) lie together as they exit from the floor of the brain. How long has this been happening for you? activated 12/8, dying for his fourth MAPping next week On Fri, 21 Jan 2005 15:54:17 +1300, <J@...> wrote: > > The eye twitching is caused one or more of the electrodes being over driven. > I got the same thing at my last mapping. Guest guest
LesDeb, Yes, I understand what you are saying. I find that I can't hear myself talking in noisy situations. I think you have your ADRO turned off (A on your BWP screen) and the sound bubble is too large. Try this -- the button with the dot inside the circle is the ADRO button, toggle it on. (I'm assuming that you have the N24C processor + Esprit BWP?) Then toggle the microphone ON (the M symbol will appear on the screen) and then press on the - key so that the sound bubble gets smaller and you can hear yourself speak and the BWP will block out the background and noisy noises and allow you to hear yourself speak. I hope this is easy to follow... anyone else is welcome to jump into here and explain this better than I could. who is always on A and M +/- depending on situations On Fri, 21 Jan 2005 02:44:24 -0000, lesdeb18 <debmitnick@...> wrote: > > > Hi Everybody > So sorry that i havent had any chance to say hello to u guys for a > while. congratulations on your hookup and with your positive > attiude You will do great with the cochlear implant. as you know that > I had few mappings and yes i am hearing all these new noises that i > never heard with hearing aid which is great and interesting But the > problem is when my kids are in the house, ( five of them ) and the > oldest one is away at college, its a very noisy enviornment i barely > hear myself at all so without knowing i speak very loud and the kids > ask me Mommy what happended to you ?? why are u talking soo loud ?? > etc.. in the mall i barely hear myself but when i walk into the store > i hear the beats from music. does this make any sense?? i am in the > mall or any public place i cant tell when i am talking too loud or > not.. while driving the car kids put on music i hear it but i cant > hear myself so again i am talking too loud ?? i am extrmely > uncomfortable in public and noisy enviorments but in quiet > background i can hear my kids phone vibrating , in airport i heard > buzzy noise i asked my kids what was that they were shocked that i > was able to hear that buzzing sounds so far and i cant even hear > myself or other people talking . everyday theres a new noise that i > discover which is fantastic but i dont like that i cant hear myself. > I called audiolgoist and complained to him> he tried to convince that > its normal but i convinced him to see me tom morning for another > mapping or maybe he wants to explain to me that this is normal who > knows????? > > to a mother who wrote about her child that was implanted a few days > ago and that her child does something with her eye while wearing an > implant i did the same thing it was so overwhelming at the begning > bec i ccouldnt hear anything but at the same time all the high > frequencies were soo loud like plastic bags rustling, water running, > etc... and also when i put the implant it was painful at first but > now when i put the implant its not painful so i guess the child would > have to get used to it.. > > I hope i mmade any sense ......... > > >
