Guest guest
Hello Dee, My name is Pam and I am new here too. I live in Arizona...much warmer than where you are from...hehe. But sometimes I wish it was cold as Alaska! I joined this group also because I want to make friends and maybe help someone out or listen to their problems and give a " far away " shoulder to lean on. Sometimes I need that too. I am in remission from Hodgkins Disease, a form of Lymphoma Cancer. I am also a Diabetic. So there are some days I really feel like crap. My sister has just recently been diagnosed with the same Cancer and she is going through chemo. There are so many after side affects than happen to someone who took chemo and since then I haven't felt the same physically. I will look forward to talking with you and I hope your depression doesn't get the best of you. There are alot of people here that would love to listen and talk about many things...whatever is on your mind. You won't be lonely here!! Take care. Guest guest
Hahaha, you make a valid point. Enjoy our youth while we still have it, eh? 170 Barbies? Wow, AND you still have room for a husband! What do you do with that many Barbies? Are they some kind of therapy? Are they some form of punishment for your husband? Guest guest
Hi Pam! Arizona, wow, that's about as opposite to me as you can get in this country. I'm sorry to hear about you and your sister, please pardon my ignorance, but I don't really know much about it, but is that form of cancer genetic? I hear alot about people in the same families getting similar diseases, but I am never sure if that is because of genes, or similar environments and such. (I don't mean to pry, I'm just a very inquisitive gal). I don't have any sisters or brothers, haven't seen or heard from my mother in about 14 years (since I was 12), and my father died when I was very young. I can't imagine having a sister, let alone one who was also very sick. Are you and your sister close? Guest guest
Welcome Dee I hail from Australia, we sure are spread far and wide. This is a GREAT list, we are all friends here. Many of us feel isolated also, no matter where we live, as our illnesses keep us from getting out much or meeting people. It is really valuable having people who understand living with pain also, nowhere else do you get support for health problems, in real life, as usually we try not to complain, and feel that we cannot seek support from people who can't relate to our conditions. We are all in the same boat here, so welcome aboard!!!! :-) > Hello all, > First let me say that I'm new to this egroup thing, so I hope I'm not > breaking any rules or traditions, I just wanted to introduce myself. Haven't heard from my mother since I sent my stepfather to prison for trying to rape me. The state took me away, and I'm glad they did. I am surprised by the diseases that are present in many families, yet science still claims there is no evidence to suggest heredity. Science also doesn't seem to think there's anything wrong with us eating foods made up mostly of chemicals and preservatives, or of the fact there is a hole in the ozone layer over antarctica 3 times the size of the United States. Sorry, just crabbing at the world today. Gotta go sit under my UV light some more, I think. Guest guest
Hi! My name is and I live in So.Ca with my husband and 13mo old son,Austin. My chiropractor is the one who got me to look into the whole vaccination debate, prior to me even becoming pregnant(i've been a patient of his for 10+yrs, my husband for 5+ and my son since he was 9days old). After researching before and during my pregnancy we opted to not vax until i could find more concrete proof of effectiveness or a dr who would be willing to put in writing their acceptance of complete liability. Never happened, so we took a form to the hospital with us stating our decision. Despite that and my writing across the consent form after my son was delivered c-sec, we refuse to consent, the next day while i'll slept, they told my husband that we would not be allowed to leave the hospital unless he was vax for HepB, so that is the only vax he ever recvd. Not prior to my visit by the DHS representative, and they requesting i sign an statement that i would not breastfeed because i might pass something(?)on to my son, and he would from here on out be vuneralable.Obviously i refused to sign this also! The stay and the treatment there, made something that shouldv'e been a joyous occasion, one of the worst 3 days of my life! Anyway, since then i've been on a hunt for information that would somehow show our kids are living lab rats, however 13mos later, i continue to look
Guest guest
Oh, good, grief. You should breastfeed for as long as you can. My personal minumum is age two. I have never heard of that advice - to not nurse (rolls eyes). In fact, the pediatrician I had on my second son agreed to delayed/partial vaccination BECAUSE I nursed. My third child never even got the Vitamin K shot, so I have come a long way. Keep shopping til you find a doctor/hospital that is going to respect your wishes. I finally gave birth at home with an MD to get my wishes met. > Hi! My name is and I live in So.Ca with my husband and 13mo old > son,Austin. Guest guest
Welcome, Bettye. You're definately the first person I've encountered who went into the military with a Harrington! We're actually flatBACKERS around here. If you flatline, you're dead! I'm sorry to hear you're having so many of the symptoms common to scoliosis fusion veterans. Do you happen to know if you were fused down into the lumbar? That's supposed to make a big difference as to whether or not you develop flatback. But yes, definitely see a KNOWLEDGEABLE scoliosis specialist about this, to find out what's wrong and what can be done. And please keep us updated on your journey. Sharon in Southern New Hampshire Congenital scoliosis w/ spina bifida and other vertebral anomalies 1971 Harrington rod fusion, T5-L4, flatback, L5-S1 degeneration, etc. My Introduction My name is Bettye , I live in ville, Florida which is where I had my surgery for the installation of Harrington Rods in October of 1966 which were removed in Dec of 1969. I was in the Marching Band in highschool and most of the time that I march was with the rods in. I joined the United States Army in November of 1971 and was in the military until 1987. In case you are wondering, I was originally denied entrance into the military, but my scores were high and I had people who were willing to help me enter because of my scores. I was an Administrative Specialist while in the Army. I recently became a disable veteran due to the military aggraviating (not abiding by the limitations which they agreed to when I went in) my back. As of this time, I have had nothing show up in my X-rays to indicate that I have the problem of flatliners, however, I have for the past few years been experiencing quite a bit of pain in my lower back, and when I cough or sneeze, I sometimes " throw " my back out. While I was in the military, I often experience problems with severe muscle spasms, and lately I have been experiencing problems with numbness in my left arm and fingers. I recently found out about your group and was please to learn that there are others who have gone through the experience that I can perhaps learn from and who perhaps can learn from me. I look forward to reading the information which you all have archived and to reading messages from other group members.
