Last summer I put diatomaceous earth all over my yard when we didn't have rain for a few weeks. But I was thinking about getting some food grade to take, and put in their food too. It's said to do all kinds of good things... We have a doggy door, and they come in daily, so I don't like to put stuff on them. Like them to stay clean. But since we are on bugs.. What about getting squash bugs killed without killing good bugs? Lorie, The best product I've ever used for fleas and ticks was food grade diatomaceous earth. Dust them once a week and no more fleas. Cheers.
