Guest guest
Sorry to hear about your fall, Lynn........Before my hip replacement, I worried about falling and breaking my hip......now I worry about falling and breaking my hip......some things do not change........hope that you haven't damaged anything. BARB in Florida Pain - think I know why You know, I wrote earlier saying how uncomfortable I was. Well, the other day, I nearly fell. There's a higher step up from my TV room into the dining room and that's where I got tripped up. I started going down, but caught myself with my hands before I fell all the way on the floor. My DIL said the way I went down, I had to have bent my knee too rapidly. Went to the store with my son and barely made it back into the house. Now, the knee is much more swollen. My DIL is an LPN and has been watching my knee. It's gotten pretty hot compared to the other knee and the pain has increased. So, I guess I call the surgeon tomorrow and see what he wants me to do. Thanks! Lynn Life itself is the proper binge. - Child Visit my art blog: http://adreamseyeview.blogspot.com/
Guest guest
Thanks, Barb! I'm better this morning...the swelling has greatly improved, and the pain has decreased a lot. I'm waiting to hear from my doc. Falling has always been an issue for me, too. You are right...some things never change. Guest guest
I fell over yesterday. Smack bang on both knees. And my first thought was thank heavens I didnt have my knee replaced. I'm sure I'd have really done it some harm if I had. Worrying Sent from my iPhone On 29 Apr 2011, at 17:07, Lynn <lynnf_99@...> wrote: > Thanks, Barb! Guest guest
Its amazing how strong the replaced joints are, my friend with 2 knee replacement tripped on a step that was concealed and fell onto concrete on both knees, no damage done apart for a beauty of a bruise. And her pride. !!! The joints were fine. -- Re: Pain - think I know why > Joint Replacement > Date: Thursday, April 28, 2011, 10:01 PM > > Sorry to hear about your fall, Lynn........Before my hip replacement, I > worried about falling > and breaking my hip......now I worry about falling and breaking my > hip......some things do > not change........hope that you haven't damaged anything. Guest guest
, that is good to know.. I have been more afraid of falling this last winter then I have even been in my whole life LOL.. Guest guest
I think you have to something really bad before you hurt a replacement, like a bad fall could dislocate a shoulder or hip etc, but I think the knees are pretty well secure for the most part any way. It would have to be a really bad accident or trip etc. I have fallen numerous times with both hips shoulders and a knee and never done any damage except for my pride !!! x -- RE: Pain - think I know why , that is good to know.. Slipped on ice and was down so quick I was lucky to get a hand down to break the fall. My OS said he wasn't worried about hurting my TKR knee but would be more worried about hurting the other knee. Jeff I am afraid you are right my CPAP still works. The manufacture keeps adding more features which seem to be nice to have but really not required. Last year anyone on Medicare was given replacement machines after using it for five years. Now Medicare requires justification to replace them. Guest guest
That is very reassuring to hear (though sorry about your friends fall). I don't mind having my other hip done but I'm really dreading the knee op. The surgeons keep pushing me to do it but (apart from some days) the pain just ain't bad enough yet Sent from my iPhone On 30 Apr 2011, at 01:08, " maryanne.waspe1@... Guest guest
Hi , Falling is the ting I worry about also. I have taken two bad falls since getting my new knee, but managed to fall once on my side and once on my other knee. Living where the presence of ice in winter is practically a constant, This is a concern. Thanks for alleviating the fear somewhat. How's the shoulder?
