Jeff...

the guy across the road from me had a fall, he tore his rotator cuff

completely.

like it was unattached he was about to embark on 3 months around Europe,

so couldn't have surgery prior to going, any way he was still able to lift

his arm despite that.

I agree with the surgeon I think its tendinitis. So going down that route

for now.

I am definitely going to get a new GP the system here at times is ridiculous

you can get referred on easy... Its just a process.

For example, I have to have a referral from my GP to see my hip guy I then

need another,

to see the shoulder guy these only last a year so I am constantly going to

get referrals to doctors.

I can't use the same referral for both hips or both shoulder etc..

its an individual letter for each and every joint. The amount of times you

go its crazy.

Plus it costs $66.00 for a 5 minute visit.

I am waiting for a good friend to ring me, she works at the surgery where I

go,

and there are about 8 doctors there she will tell me who is kind caring and

patient..

my normaL GP is off for an undisclosed amount of time as he has a court

case running,

Which is really sad as he was the very best.

My husband fell through a roof at work and tore his rotator cuff he had it

repaired only to re- tear it again,

He refuses to get it fixed as he said it didn't work the first time. ( that

s another story and the bane of my life)

He can still lift his arm but he can't reach out, so I think it depends on

which muscle is involved and how bad the tear is.

I had a repair to the left shoulder before I had it replaced, as the surgeon

refused to operate if there was a tear there,

I didn't know I had a tear, so was shocked to say the least.

so now taking anti inflam's for now.

thanks xx

you are busy !!!

Hi ,

That's why I asked about raising the arm. If you can then it's likely not a

tear, maybe a sprain.

You might want to think about a new gp. How does he get " fed up " with you?

I'm really trying to avoid the surgery and just get by the way it is. I

have

an app't next week with doc who put in my spinal stimulator and he's going

to

see if he can inject me with something to help.
