UNUM and Short term Disability

Hi all,

Is anyone here on STD with UNUM or UNUM Provident and had benefits cut

off prematurely? My OS certified me off work from June 27th until Sept

3 - surgery was July 3. UNUM wants me back at work - umm - TODAY! My

OS has sent certification in to extend it until I see him on 9-9, and

I do have 14 days from today to get recertified, but I'm very

concerned, obviously.

UNUM has a history of losing bad-faith lawsuits for doing this kind of

thing, including a RICO case they lost because there is a pattern of

improperly closing claims, though usually to people on Long-Term. I

HATE that my employer chose these cheats to handle these policies.
