Joint Replacement

Subject: Hi Gayle and .sorry its long !!!

Thanks for answering my absolute frustration.

when i had the first round of joints 5 of them, going back to 1993 I had the same

surgeon do all five, in fact he did 2 of my revisions.,I used to work with him

so knew how good he was and so on..

Also my hip x-rays MRI's etc never showed the AVN I had. it wasn't until the

joint was out and my GP was able to photograph it, did I believe that's what I

had wrong.. of course the pathology came back as positive to AVN.

he moved away from here, and has become so busy that he has 3 operating rooms

going all at once with people at different stages of their surgery, he did in

fact do the wrong joint on someone (got greedy).so i decided no way was I going

to get involved in this.

He also stopped doing shoulders at this point so I had to find a good shoulder

guy which I did. so when my hip dislocated I contacted my shoulder man and he

told me to go to this guy I am now seeing, I also asked the nurses in theatre,

who they would go to for hips and knees and they were unanimous with what the

shoulder guy said..

He did my 4th revision last year, was very good and straight to the point... I

was happy with his skills and the outcome is good.

But 4 months prior to that hip dislocating I was told it all looked perfect.Only

to find out it was too loose and kept dislocating.

I have now had Bone scan, MRI, bone density, x-rays and now an ultrasound to

make sure its not ovaries or a hernia clot etc.which it isn't.

Having had 5 hips done, I darn well know its my hip, I don't have any back pain

and or very little, now and then, but I think that's from walking funny with

this hip !!! and my knee replacement same side is okay as far as I know.

I wouldn't have a clue who else to go to, if you read the doctors on the web

pages they all say they are experienced and fantastic, well we know that isn't

always true, I don't know whether to stick it out a bit longer or get another

opinion, I am just so depressed now. not knowing where to turn.I got no sleep

last night because of the hip and the new shoulder.. Thanks for reading this

far. I truly do appreciate any and all your feedback.

Money isn't the deciding factor.
