I have an excellent orthopedic surgeon in Scranton, Pa. That might be a little

far for you but if you can't find one closer I can give you the information as I

highly recommend him. He has his own hip & knee replacement unit at Community

Medical Center in Scranton. It was wonderful! (if you can imagine anyone

saying that) I felt I had excellent care from nurses, therapists etc. who are

experienced at handling this type of surgery patient. They were all very

knowledgeable, kind and came to your assistance immediately. As you can tell, I

had a great experience with both the doctor and the hospital. The nurses told

me that knee and hip patients are starting to come from other states to use him.

(he does minimally invasive surgery and has a rapid recovery program.) I spent

5 days in the hospital because I had both knees done at the same time.

Otherwise, it would have only been 4 days. They told me their hip replacement

patients stay for 3 days.

My wife has been told that she needs to have TKR surgery. We want to get a

second opinion. We would appreciate names of recommended orthopedic surgeons in

Baltimore / Washington area.

Thanks

My husband's knee replacement (2007) and my hip (2008) were done by Dr.

Barry Waldman at Ortho land in Baltimore. He is very very good and the

hospital where he operates is also excellent.

Here's a link to their website:
