Guest guest
the ultrasound will only show fatty liver or cirrhosis or lesions/tumors,, if you have damage down to the cellular level, sometimes it does not show,, infact the radiologist who read mine wrote on my results that an ultrasound is NOT the way to evaluate the liver except for tumors/lesions and some fatty liver changes and that I needed to have either an MRI or a biopsy to show the whole story...Barbara <barbarac102@...> wrote: Did your ultra sound show abnormalities at this point like Liz's? ~BarbaraJackie on <redjaxjm > wrote: well my liver enzymes were fluxuating between one or two numbers above normal and 3 times normal and I had a LOT OF DAMAGE.. so there is really no correlation between ast/alt and the amount of damage one has!barbarac102 <barbarac102 > wrote: Thanks for your your response. Guest guest
I have another question for everyone. I am extremly tired all the time and sick at my stomach and just general malaise most days it is all I can do to get the kids to school go to work and cook dinner. Is this common did anyone else feel badly before treatment? I have read a lot about people being sick during tx but not alot about people being sick before tx. Some times I think I am just a big weenie and if I just buck up I will be alright. Robbie Try the new Live Search today!

Guest guest
My symptoms match yours exactly, Robbie. I have not yet started treatment. I am STILL waiting to see the GI Specialist for the first visit, 8 days to go now.. I will see a Alternative/Holistic MD this coming week for a consultation.. I couldn't even make a Support Group meeting that I badly wanted to attend, but then my youngest daughter backed out last minute and everyone else is way too busy with their own lives.. All we can really do is one day at a time.. Hang In.. Sheena Robbie J <robbiej4@...> wrote: I have another question for everyone. Guest guest
Robbie, I am right with you. Except, no nausea for me. I have had trouble with diarrhea for a long timw, but since I was diagnosed with the hep C, I found out that it was the fatty diet I had that was likely the cause of it. So in a sense it was a blessing to find out about the hep C! As for the tiredness...man, it's a killer. I try to eat small meals throughout the day, drink a lot of water, etc., but there are times that the fatique hits me like a truck. Can't imagine what it will be like once I start tx, but will take it as it comes, I supose. Maybe taking a walk will help? It's getting cool at night - at least here in SoCal -and it sure feels good!.... I have another question for everyone. I am extremly tired all the time and sick at my stomach and just general malaise most days it is all I can do to get the kids to school go to work and cook dinner. Guest guest
Sheena, I surely missed seeing you at the support group meeting, but please come to the next one. The people were amazing. The next meeting is 3rd Thursday of Nov at Saddleback church, and there is going to be Thanksgiving food! As for the long wait for the GI, maybe you can call and if they had a cancellation they can get you in sooner? Also, I want to hear about the alternative doc. I had a long talk with one of the folks at Whitaker Wellness, and since they don't take insurance, the only services of theirs I could afford are the massage and acupunture. Since I am already scheduled for acupunture with someone in Irvine (next Thursday!), I am probably not going to use them. I did ask them what is in their " special " IV drip (their hep c treatment protocol) and guess what? It's milk thistle, alpha lipoic acid and selenium! Stuff I take every day! I think they charge a lot for that treatment! Anyway, I am sure you will weigh it all very carefully. Hang in there! ... > I have another question for everyone. Guest guest
OK I guess I missed the first part of this..Robbie, how long have you known you have had it..and have you had biopsy, and such???? My enzymes were always normal except for a slight elevation on one of them..my biopsy showed minimal scarring, which could have been from years of alchol and drug abuse. I am bi polar, ADHD, rage disorder, anxiety disorder, IBS, etc...If I think back I have always had what I would call fatigue...but which was depression..even when I was 22-24, I would watch tv all day, and then start cleaning up the house at 4pm, my hubby then got home at 6 pm..as far as I know I contracted it in 93, although I got my first tattoo in 76, so who knows. But in 93 I was diagnoised and had symptoms about 4-6 weeks after I shot up with this guy in Calif. I had massive diarreia, pure liquid for 8 weeks straight, lost about 30lbs, bent over with stomach cramps, I could hardly leave the house, because of it..my stools when there were some, were pasty tan colored..wierd..It was terrible..but it did sound like what could be the onset. From then on I slowly gained weight, and in 95 went to nursing school for 7 months..but that was the last time I really was able to do anything productive. I could still walk a mile or so a day, swim, and go places. Drive without much trouble. Now, I swell all the time, which started before tx the second time. When I first tx in 04 to now, I have slowly lost muscle mass, gottten very soft in the body. And cant do much of anything. I havent had a bx since 04, so, after this tx is over. I would like to see if there is a difference. Since tx I just sweat all the time, cold or hot outside..I am getting fatigued a lot again, since changing shots and more riba.. I get quesy easier. Headaches, and mucho irriatablitiy.. So, I dont know what is from what anymore..LOl...if I felt this way before, how do I know it is from HEP??? If liver is ok, and enzymes are ok..viral went up some to 4 mill, but, couldnt it just be being overweight, not eatting right, no exersise, and depression??? I just wish I knew for sure..thanks geri
Guest guest
I have "spells" of stomach ailment and am simply tired all the time. At one period years baack, I was sick all the time and had no energy. I didn't know what was wrong with me then, but I now find it was the acute stage??? of chronic Hep C. I only have spells of feeling so lousy now and most days perform normally, at least for me. My viral load has gone down for the second test in a row now and , although i know that indicates nothing, it does make me feel better to see a lower number. Guest guest
Is it normal to get spells of fatigue so bad that you feel like you're gonna die? I have them sometimes, and then it turns into a panic attack. Of course, after the " heart attack scare " of last week, I know what is really happening so I sit down and breathe. Seems to help, and then the " spell " is over. Just had it at the mall and I feel badly because my kids get worried!...susan > You are showing the signs of chronic hep c sweetie , nausea and fatigue are right up there as the most common signs . Guest guest
Yes, I have In fact sometimes it is so bad I had panic attacks. I would get them when I pushed myself too hard. It was hard to explain to my family. My husband started noticing that after I pushed myself extra hard to do something I would just do this. So he started telling them, if your mom says she is tired, she is truly tired. Yes yesterday she was able to do more. Leave her be!!
