Guest guest
Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 43, female, and 3 weeks post op from right TKR. So far the recovery is going pretty good. I'm bending over 90 degrees on my own and the therapist got me to 108 with quite a bit of teeth gritting. Just this last week I've really started feeling my right quad kicking in when doing the exercises. Right now I'm still doing at home physical therapy. That should end with one more session next week then I'll go to an outpatient facility. It's been a hard 3 weeks. The first 4 days I was in the hospital and just punched a button and got what I needed. For the next 10 days my mother was staying with us and she took very good care of me. But now it's just me and the husband and the cats. I love him to death but a nurse he is not. I guess it's a good thing since it's making me move more to do for myself. I'm still using the walker but I feel I'm ready to go to a cane and will mention that at my next pt session. My biggest concern is how things will be once I'm all healed up. I was very active presurgery. I do many different types of aerobics and weight training plus I'm active in my job. I was too the point where my knee was greatly affecting ALL aspects of my life so I know it was time but now I'm worried I won't be able to go back to some activities. I guess time will tell.
