Guest guest
Who decides whether one is impaired or not? Someone feeling no pain because of the use of heavy narcotics? Whether it is alcohol use or drug use (legal or illegal), users should not be driving on the highways. You are talking to someone who lost a very good friend's 20 year old son to a driving drug user 88 days ago. Re: surgery Which hip did you have done, and what approach? Guest guest
Copes need wither a roadblock OR a valid reason for stopping you in the first place, and then a reason to suspect you are impaired by drugs or alcohol. Do you mean that if the person does not show as impaired for driving they could not legally do a breatalyzer or blood or urine test. How does this legal order of rights work in most states? Guest guest
Sounds like you had a real hard time. Was this lock up after the hip replacement or before? In a message dated 9/9/2011 5:50:56 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, leecaroler@... writes: if i dared to sit for even a moment at the bank or at someones house even in my car my hip would be sure to lock me in that place with my hip unable to unlock my leg out of that sitting position. In defeat I would embarrasingly have to try to undo the lockup but most always failed (untillater when got home) and tohus had to call my husband to often to come and rescue me if i drove somewhere that first week and very soon had to quit driving altogether until the allowed 6 weeks time period after my urgent THR. Guest guest
The meds make my life bearable. Without the pain meds I would have no quialty of life. I would be stuck at home or in a wheel chair. Not for me. Gayle California In a message dated 9/9/2011 8:24:38 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, sibemshr2@... writes: I have to agree........ Guest guest
BEFORE the 2010 hip THR. i had just about finished a commercial diet that gave me a 30 lb wt loss which was supposedly a good idea in advance of my soon hoped for Total Knee job. But to my surprise my hip did a sudden rapid deterioration on me and thus moved up as first in line to be replaced over my lame knee. In a way if both were going to go on me it was lucky i waited the x no. of years to buy more time with my own knee because i ended up with the opportunity to have the hip done before the knee. I am told hip before knee is the best order of replacement when both are bad on same leg and the option presents itself.
