Have others had pain from the body getting used to new knees? It seems

I have to have all my muscles relearn how to balance and walk

correctly. That hurts more then the knee right now.Muscles that

haven't ever had to deal with straight legs are yelling at me! I was

very knocked knee before my TKRs .(1st one in June 07 and the last one

in Dec 07)

Everybody thank you for all the comments and information...I learn so

much!

My impression has been that the pain in the leg muscles is the result of them being detached from the bone and re-attached, and manipulated and (in my imagination) just sort of tossed around before being put back in place. Just thinking about it makes me cringe. Anyway, the pain gradually goes away. I'm two months post-op and still have a little pain but it's not enough to require pain medication. As for the knee itself, there's nothing there to hurt (Hooray!!), just the muscles and tendons around it. in Coloradopam <againmine41@...> wrote: Have others had pain from the body getting used to new knees?
