Guest guest
I used it myself for a few years and it did make me feel better. We tried it with my son against the doc's advice and regretted it. Our doc at the time, who specializes in gut problems, was concerned that pathogenic bacteria and parrasites could glom onto the algae and populate themselves in susceptible children. Since my son had problems with bowel flora, he was concerned that the algae might disrupt it further. We tried it with my son for a week, he had problems, and stool testing showed a water-dwelling pathogenic bacterial overgrowth. No telling if it came from the algae but was a coincidence. When I asked the BGA folks for recent testing on their product, they could only give me testing from the previous-year's batch, rather than what was currently on the market. I'd be careful with this when using it with a person whose gut flora is off. Gaylen
Guest guest
Gaylen, thanks for your reply. Who made your BGA? I'm looking into CellTech, which is supposedly very pure and rigorously tested. Years ago, when we used it, they only released testing for the previous year's product. Gaylen

Guest guest
I have read that Blue Green Algae can be high in toxic metals and mercury. You may want to check out the validity of this before having your child ingest it. Rhonda > > I tried a search on this, and was surpised that it hadn't been > discussed here on the board... Guest guest
Be careful woth blue green algae. It has mercury in it. If your child is mercury toxic from vaccines like so many of the children, you should not be giving them this algea.

Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the CellTech information. I saw some information on this on the mercury board and while it was said to have wonderful properties and results...there is that metal issue... Is there a way to find this out for sure? Also, is it just the CellTech brand or would this include all blue green algae? .
Guest guest
Were you watching these numb nuts talk thru there holes too? If there gonna 'report' stuff like that they should either say these lakes are closed (like school closures) and let people research for themselves that our public waters are cespools, and the reason why. Because it's apparent this has become commonplace for these places. The rivers are in bad shape as well. I wish they would, on a regular basis drop hydrogen peroxide from helicopters as commonplace rather than this or that or whatever for cryin out loud. I should stop it's late and I can't think as usual. I'm cranky........... Pam --------------------------- I've taken to calling in and writing these numb nuts about their little " mistakes " . Makes me feel better anyway *shrugs* _________________________________________________________________ Don’t just search. Find. Guest guest
Kurt: I take Klammath blue-green algae also (I buy an enhanced enzyme product). It is a wonderful product. I got a product for our son for calming ADD and it has spirulina in it, so it must be helpful for those areas also. in La Selva Beach CA
