Guest guest
Hi, I am going to have a hip replacement sometime soon--I am going to meet with my surgeon this coming week. I am in the DC area and I did some online research as I originally wanted to find someone who does an anterior approach. I didn't want the restrictions of a posterior approach. Actually this doc does something a little different from what I was looking for, in that it is from the side, I think, and a two-incision approach (and, I am not positive, but might use a computer for precision in placement and leg length). He has good credentials and is at Hopkins in Baltimore. Has anyone had either this procedure or a similar mininally invasive one, and how quick was your recovery? I am concerned about recovery and being on my own. When were you able to drive (it's my right leg), cook, carry laundry, etc? In other words, be independent!!! Thanks!
