Resurfacing to Replacement

I was resurfaced in June of 2007. I had a very hard recovery, but did well for a

couple of years. In late 2009 my hip started squeaking and " acting up. " I would

have soreness and stiffness and little less range of motion (not brought on by

extreme exercise). It would come and go every three months. My doctor said it

was probably nothing -- joint looked good, blood was fine, range of motion (over

all) was good. This last February the symptoms came back and got steadily worse.

I am now using a cane and, sometimes, crutches. I can't sleep on my left side,

and can't extend my left leg out all the way. I had an MRI, an Xray and new

blood work. My metal ion levels are through the roof and my bursa sacs in my hip

area are HUGE. I am in constant agonizing pain. So....I'm scheduled for a

revision next Friday (6/17).

Any other resurfacing to replacement folks out there care to share their story?

Thanks,

a
