Guest guest
Hi, I'm new here looking for discussions on shoulder replacements. I went to the dr yesterday fully expecting to be given a prescription for PT for the OA there. He, however, said that at this point PT won't help. It is close to bone on bone. I was shocked. In 1996 I had a THR and then a horrible revision 2 years ago. Both times, the pain prior to surgery was unreal. I am not anywhere near that amount of pain now but he said it should be done sooner than later. Marcia In a message dated 3/3/2011 6:05:58 A.M. I am being really tested with this shoulder replacement. considering it was straight forward and easy so the surgeon said, then why am I in so much pain 3 weeks post op. I didn't take a thing after about 10 days from the hip. I can't get dressed on my own as I can't get a bra on. I went a week ago to have the sutures/incision checked, no sutures to come out, I had staples with the other shoulder. and he checked my CRP levels, they were high, so I had the test repeated yesterday, to see if they are coming down or not, this indicates inflammation or infection. I know I don't have an infection, as no signs of one thankfully. so I am thinking its inflammation for some weird reason. any way just thought I'd check in hope you are all doing well. the hip is perfect, don't even know I have had it done. except for numbness on the entire outer thigh. x [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Guest guest
Hi Marcia. I would be asking questions like why sooner than later, especially if you aren't in much pain. I had my left hip go belly up in a week, and there was no pain it just kept falling out. I waited 2 years from needing the revision on the left shoulder, to actually getting it done, and he said it was easy straight forward etc. The reason I had to wait 2 years is because I had a revision done on the right, and it was a nightmare.I ended up with 4 surgeries total 3 revisions and rotator cuff tear. Its not an easy surgery to get over, have had hips and a knee done, so I have a fairly good idea. can I ask you why your revision was horrible, as I just had the best on my left hip which was #4. the other were horrible.oh and what else do you want to know about the shoulder.? -- [Total_Join _Total_Joint_Total_Joint_Total_Joint_Tot_ (mailto:Joint Replacement ) Date: Tuesday, March 1, 2011, 4:09 PM Hi every-one.
