Guest guest
I have posted information on that Simone. There is no lactose in Armour - only thyroxine. Luv - Sheila Re: Hi All Hey thanks for Dr Peatfield phone number and the armour info...Does anyone know if they are lactose intolerant due to being hypo or weak adrenals..Luv,Simone No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Hi Simone, I wouldn't imagine it was either the NAE or the Armour that made your temperature drop. You say you took your NAE in the afternoon. Do you know that you shouldn't take any after 1.00p.m. because the extra adrenalin might keep you awake. You should also take NAE with food. Not sure why you should have such a drop in your temperature though. luv - Sheila Another interesting factor i noticed today..so yesterday i took quarter armour..before i took it in the morning i took my temperature which was 36.9..today i took another quarter in the morning and took a nutri adrenal extra in the afternoon..after i took the nutri adrenal extra about 30 minutes later i took my temperature it was 34.4..i was shocked..my temperature usuallly ranges from 36.4 to 36.9...this evening i took it and it jumped back it was 36.8...what could have made my temperature drop so much in the afternoon could it have been the nutri adrenal extra or the armour??...it does seem strange..Luv,Simone No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
If you take your Armour sublingually, you can take whatever other supplements at the same time. If you take Armour orally, it is said you can lose up to 45% of its potency in the stomach. Sublingually, it is absorbed directly into the blood stream through the capillaries under your tongue, which goes directly to the liver for conversion. luv - Sheila --- In thyroid treatment , "sheilaturner" <Can i take the nutri adrenal with breakfast and then the armour half and hour afterwards?i will check my temperature after taking both and see if i have the same drop..curious..Luv,Simone No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Hi Simone, you sound quite sensible, so I should wait to see Dr p, and not to start the armour as it may be now out of date. and you need time to let the NAEdo it bit before moving on to armour. It took me nearly 2 years to reach my sweet point, so gently, gently dos it. angel. Guest guest
So if Dr P, feels i need armour will i beable to get my prescriptions off him? It's still all confusing to me..will make an appointment to see Dr P.. My menstruation is regular 28 days so tsh 2.7 has not affected my periods, not heavy period..5 days..my basal metabolic temperature ranges betwn 36.5 to 37..afternoon temperature sometimes 37.1...so my temperatures are not low...my ferritin is 36...i am quite slim 54 kg..1.67cm...but my hair falls out and is dry and my mood is all over the place. I can't make out what the problem is?? Luv, Simone
Guest guest
Hi Simone, The Armour should be taken on an empty stomach- an hour before food or 2 hours after. If this is impossible try putting it under your lip to let it dissolve there ----- Subject: Re: Hi All --- In thyroid treatment , " sheilaturner " < Can i take the nutri adrenal with breakfast and then the armour half and hour afterwards? i will check my temperature after taking both and see if i have the same drop..curious.. Guest guest
HiSimone You might have hit the nail on the head. Having low ferritin can cause all the same symptoms as hypothyroidiosm, and as stated previously, unchecked can also be a cause of hypothyroidism. I am pleased that you are feeling much better since starting it and many sufferers say the same that they are feeling so much better with more energy etc. See how you go on. I guess the only way you could test to see whether or not you do need Armour is to stop the Armour, and keep off it for as long as you can to see whether the hypothyroid symptoms return. If they don't, then your probabl could have been that your stored iron was depleted and making you feel so bad. Watch this space !1 ) Luv - Sheila I have recently started taking ferrous sulphate to bring up my ferritin levels up, prior to that was only taking spatone(liquid iron)...i am finding the ferrous sulphate very effective in raising my body temperature, it seems to make me feel warm almost instantly...with afternoon temperatures of 37. Could this mean that perhaps i do not need the Armour after all and supplementing with iron till i reach my target ferritin and then continue with maintenance iron (spatone) should be enough to keep my system free from hypo symptoms?Previously i have stopped with iron supplementation and have slipped back into low ferritin very quickly. Thanks,Luv,Simone No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG. Guest guest
>Hi Sheila, I took a quarter grain armour last month for one day and then another quarter another day..have not taken armour since, as was so nervous about trying it without getting my ferritin up as you suggested. The two days i took armour i did out of impatience, thankfully now i am erring on the side of patience and only doing the ferrous sulphate so that in a few months time i can make more of a concrete decision regarding taking armour or not. If the ferritin is up and this has lowered my tsh then i guess the ferritin is where the answer lies. In the meantime exercising patience.. Guest guest
Hi Simone, Taking up from where Sheila left off, there's usually an underlying reason behind the low ferritin and one of those reasons can be thyroid. Low ferritin will make it difficult for your body to use thyroid hormones so supplimenting could have a marked effect on whatever T4/T3 that remains in your bloodstream. Be prepared though because you may find those symptoms start to creep back in. I actually have found that the more I treat my hypoT, the more ferritin I need. The same is true of magnesium and B12. My attitude now is: 'whatever it takes'. Fingers crossed for you. Luv Bella > > HiSimone > > You might have hit the nail on the head. Guest guest
> > Hi Bella, Thanks for the update..last year i had a ferritin of 70 because i was supplementing iron and my tsh was 1.35 on no thyroid meds. So i am hoping if i get my ferritin back to 70 it will bring my 2.5 tsh down. At present ferritin is 36. If not will try the Armour. Guest guest
Hi there Simone, Yes that's way too low but 70 isn't all that high either, 70 to 90 tends to be our range although I feel it's good to try to get it up to 90 where possible. Some of us really can't afford to ever stop supplimenting ferritin because we aren't that good at absorbing it. Again, it's about core temperature and poor gut absorbtion. It would be brilliant if ferritin is the answer for you. Now you've posed a question that I want to find the answer to: 'does low ferritin cause TSH to rise?'. I'm off to google, because it's so much more interesting than doing homework, lol. Guest guest
> > Hey Bella, Let me know the results of your homework...lol.this is the question i have been dabbling with...does low ferritin cause high tsh..or does high tsh cause low ferritin. In 2005(when i first discovered i was low ferritin) i had a ferritin of 17 and tsh of 1.36 (again no thyroid meds, have never been on thyroid meds). Was on carbimazole for a month in 2003 which resulted in a tsh of 70. My body 'aligned' itself naturally without thyroxine/armour...within the ranges and below tsh 2...i think that episode left me now needing to supplement iron daily most likely forever...i did not know this before but now it seems clear to me... Guest guest
You would probably need Ferrous Sulphate arounod 200 mgs daily, but if very low, you need to build this up to 400 mgs taken twice daily, or even 600 mgs if you are terribly low. You can buy this yourself if your GP doesn't recognise that you do have low ferritin. Guest guest
I forgot to say that if you use Ferrous Sulphate, you need to take a large dose of Vitamin C, 1000mgs with each dose. Guest guest
Hi simone, Whem symptoms overlap it is hard to see what is actually the problem- best to look at it again when you iron stores are at optimum. ----- Could this mean that perhaps i do not need the Armour after all and supplementing with iron till i reach my target ferritin and then continue with maintenance iron (spatone) should be enough to keep my system free from hypo symptoms?
