This conference is for professionals who work in the field of MR/DD or autism and parents of people with disabilities.

Goals and Objectives:

1. Gain an understanding of the functions of behaviors exhibited by learners.

2. Select appropriate interventions for specific functional behaviors.

3. Understand the role personally taken when managing the inappropriate behaviors of learns.

4. Understand the variety of social intervention techniques available and their rationale.

5. Understand an assessment model that allows for the determination of the best social intervention for each learner.

6. Review case studies that show how the social assessment and intervention process can be effective with individual learners.

7. Opportunity to present specific cases that assist in the development of social interaction interventions.
