,

Sorry that I cannot tell you anything about knee resurfacing, but I had both

knees replaced in Aug. 2010 at age 63. I was told that my knees could last 20

years or more. It depends a lot on how you treat them. While I was in the

hospital there was another woman there who was in for a hip replacement. I

heard she already had a knee replacement 25 years ago and it was doing just

fine. My doctor had no hesitation doing both knees on me at 63. He said knee

replacements had come a long way and they were lasting longer and longer all the

time now. I was wondering why your husband was told only 10 years.

I did that, and only three groups came up - this one and two that primarily

deal with hip resurfacing.

Has anyone here had their knee resurfaced? I know that a hip resurfacing is

supposed to last a lifetime. Do they say the same thing about knee resurfacing,

or does that only last about 10 years (like knee replacement)? My husband is 63,

and his doctor really doesn't want to do TKR because it probably won't last the

rest of his life.

I'd appreciate any input from anyone who has had knee resurfacing.
