Hi ,

I have had lower back pain off and on for several years.  It went away right

after my hip replacement.  I was shocked as I didn't realize they were so

closely related.  So yes you might be able to gain that benefit!  I am so

grateful this operation is available...I got my life back!

Thanks ! I can't tell you how helpful everyone's responses have been. Here

is the strangest thing, my hip pain seems to be secondary to the pain in my back

I assume from compensation. Usually I have a pinched nerve feeling through the

hip, and it will switch from one side to the other. Today I woke up with pain

through the mid region of my back so bad that I can hardly walk and it looks I'm

stuck in bed for the majority of the day with a heating pad.

Have any of you experienced this sort of back pain prior to surgery?

You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.
