Guest guest
My TKR was 01/11/2011 - so I'm 4 1/2 weeks out from surgery. I'm still very dependent on the pain medication so can't consider driving yet. I don't have access to aqua therapy - but am able to get to a stationary bicycle 5 times a week and visit the PT 3 times a week. I'm not feeling any benefit from the surgery yet. I'm in much more pain and my motion is much more limited than it was pre-surgery. Hard not to be depressed though my surgeon assures me that I'm progressing okay. He's rescinded his first assessment that I'd need what he calls a torture device to get better range of motion, or a " crunch " surgery. I can't seem to get better than about 15 degrees extension on the knee - but I still have quite a bit of inflammation so am hoping that as when the inflamation finally subsides I'll be able to get the knee straighter. The bent knee is leading to a lot of hip pain. Any advice on keeping positive? - Washington State
