Guest guest
Hi Lynn, I just read this and although I am on my way out of the house now, I wanted to tell you that I was told not to lie with pillows or anything under my knees and not to sit in a recliner in the beginning either. They told me if anything, put the pillow under your heels. My surgery was in Aug. 2010 on both knees and in the beginning I was a little discouraged. But my family could see the improvement a little bit each day and would tell me about how good I was doing and that helped a lot. Good luck with your recovery. It does get better! Pat Pennsylvania Pulled my knee My new knee is two weeks old today. Yesterday, I sat in an ordinary kitchen chair and when I got up, I must have put too much weight on my right knee. I saw stars and it brought tears to my eyes, On a 1-10 pain scale, it was about a 15. It was at the top of the knee, that band of quad muscle that goes across the bottom of the thigh. It woke me throughout the night. Today the whole knee hurts. Tomorrow my PT comes to work with me, and in trying to do my exercises, it's been really hard. I've been using ice and trying to relax a bit, sometimes I get shots of pain without doing a thing. I'm hoping it's temporary! I'll tell the therapist and take my pain pill!
