I had to read up on the topic of gout and uric acid for a family member recently

and i recall reading nothing about yeast ( as you mentioned) but that uric

acid is made by one of our body enzymes.

My husband had a fungal inferction of his toenail, and had a culture taken to be

sure. The practice nurse said that ha could try a course of very pricey drug, to

be taken for a long time, with lots of potential side effects. .Then she said

she knew a drugs rep who swore by using Vicks instead:

http://www.vicks.com/products/vapo-family/vaporub-topical-ointment/

Seeing as it was harmless, cheap, and better-sounding than the alternative, he

gave it a go - smearing some on and around his toenail every am and pm. He even

reported back to the nurse, who wanted to know if it worked or was just an old

wive's tale...

Whaddayaknow - it worked!!!

It took a few months, but the same is true of the other stuff.

Worth a go??

My cousin swears by vicks for same reasom. i am just glad i don' have to worry

about nail fungal infections on topof everything else tat has already dformed my

nails. I still get the icy toe and foot and leg spells now and then and for

that i have a tiny heater blower or my electric heating pad. I get thes same

icy (frost bite fear) thing on my nose now and then and have to keep it warm

with my hands or under a cover too until it settles down on its own.

Oil of oregano might help with the fungus.
