Guest guest
, I think you should have a chat to your surgeon, I really don't think you should be needing vicodin one month post a hip replacement, you really shouldn't be in pain this far into your healing process.especially if you are taking it " just in case " you might have pain. Plain simple medication should see you through any PT and other activities. -- Re: discomfort. How long did you take the vicodin? I'm still on it at the four week mark. I know I need to go off it but can't bare the thought of living in pain still. My dreams are not full on nightmares now, but certainly are busy and full of anxiety. Last night I spent all night trying to find a home for a dog that was full grown. Every where I turned in the dream he was following me, even when I was flying over water, I looked down and he was swimming after me! I woke up exhausted and sure hope that someone adopted him eventually LOL! Last night for the first time I was able to sleep comfortably on my replaced hip for most of the night. How cool is that? > ------------------------------------
Guest guest
Well I think I discovered why I may be having pain still. My incision is infected! The area has been red for some time, which I figured was normal, but over the past few days I've noticed two holes leaking infection getting more and more pronounced along with the pain. I have no fever yet, but feel pretty sick to my stomach. So I have a call into my doctor and waiting now for a return call. Tomorrow I am supposed to start back to work so hopefully I'll be able to get antibiotics. Guest guest
, I am sorry to read that you may have an infection in your hip incision...... that was one of my biggest worries after the initial operation....infection, blood clot, and dislocation.....I hope you get it cleared up quickly before it does some real harm............BARB Re: discomfort. > > How long did you take the vicodin?
