Guest guest
I saw the surgeon yesterday and he seemed to think the rash was nothing to worry about, thinks it is related to the swelling. I am starting Remicaid on Wed. of next week and it is up to the Rheumatologist as to when I will have the other knee done but probably next year in Jan. I don't know what I will do about the pain, just put up with it I guess. I hurt so many other places that it would be difficult to find the one that hurts most. I have costochondritis or there is another name for it when it is associated with psoriatic arthritis. Inflamation where tendons and ligaments attach to the bones. It is extremely painful and you never know where you'll be hurting next. Right now it is my left wrist, right foot, right shoulder and ribs near my collar bone, also some pain in my neck and back. It takes me a while to get out of bed. Predisone and I take a very low dose helps but it wears off by the afternoon. I shoudn't do this but I've started self medicating in that I take 3/4 tablet in am and 1/4 before I go to bed and that cuts down on the pain a little. I've also decided that I am going to stop complaining and just learn to live with this as the complaints do not help at all. It is interesting to read how others have done with the surgery and I will be having the other knee done and I WILL BE dreading it twice as much. Everyone have a good and pain free day. Guest guest
I am so glad your rash turned out to be thought to be nothing overly serious. Also it sounds like you are getting things more planned out. My mom developed polyarthritis (five types in one) right about the end of Menopause. Hers was in the limbs and breastbone but replacements were not as promising an outcome back then back then and even if today her feet and hands even could not be replaced. Anyway I recall her pain as I was a highschool student when she began her painful plight and her worst news was that she had to forgo all cortizone because with her first trial of it she was seen as allergic to it. No NSAID's invented as yet either. i dont know for sure but in hindsight she might have been able to have some luck with the mni doses of a certain cancer anti rejection drug that i read about some RA paients are candidates for today. One in my family with RA has had years of success with that medication. Well best wishes and I am glad to hear that you can at least stll think about moving forward with your plans for next total replacement. Sometimes folks have an easier time with one TKR than the other. I wholeheartedly wish that to be the case for you.
