Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the family. I'm SuZie, 57 year old female non-responder to tx, now in ESLD but not needing a t p yet(hopefully not for a very long time). I'm also one of the "approval board" Glad to see you have a sense of humour, not that one's needed around here, just very useful :-) I live up in the GWN (Great White North) - Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada with my roomy, bff, pest control officer & Boss - Sir SpYke the Magnificent, Galactic Overlord in Training. Yes, he's a cat & a handsome one at that, you'll find his pic as well as less important things like member bios, info links etc at the Group site. Go take a look around. OOps, gotta go, the Boss is calling(he needs a lot of loving) Welcome again, SuZie & Sir SpYkekelly_koger wrote: Hello ! My name is . I am staying away from interferon with my new liver. I cant seem to do a whole lot because of the hep c dragging me down and my stomach is very sensitive after a double hernia operation last spring. Some times I think I am going stir crazy. Thats one reason I joined this group to have some people to communicate with. Guest guest
Hi , Jeff had a tp. in Jan. 06, he is also from Indy, but he came to Pittsburgh with me in 1985. We go out to visit often. After the tp. he was put on interferon, cause the Hep. was attacking his new liver. He has his 46th shot Fri, he will do the 48 weeks, then his Dr. wants him to do the 12 more, hopefully he can. It has almost been a year since he started tx. seems hard to believe. I don't know if he is a guinnie pig or what, but he will do the tx cause he wants to get rid of the virus. He is back to normal most of the time. He does get migraines alot, but he is my old Jeff, Suekelly_koger wrote: Hello ! My name is . Guest guest
I'm 44 and will be having THR surgery on Feb. 28. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and dysplasia as well as a cyst in the joint space and have been in constant pain for the past 18 months. I had an arthrogram and MRI with contrast last fall and I was nearly unable to walk. Three weeks later I had a cortisone shot and was in the same condition and the pain was unbearable. I did physical therapy also but it didn't help. Taking Advil only takes the edge off the pain. Because of my age the doctors were hesitant to do the surgery but I couldn't imagine waiting until I'm " old enough " to have the surgery! Fortunately I'm in good health so the recovery should be easier. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and hearing about your experiences. Guest guest
Hello Angie, My name is Bill, I'm from Indiana too.. Glad to meet you and Good Luck on your upcoming surgery.. I hope you are relieved of pain and have a speedy recovery.. I haven't had a THR yet.. I have AVN in both my hips so it is quite possible one or two of them will be in my future.. What part of Indiana are you from? N,S,W,E etc.. I'm near Ft. Wayne.. Do you know what approach your surgeon is going to use to do the THR? Let me know how your surgery goes and who your surgeon is.. I might be needed one in the future like I said, it's always nice to have someone that might be able to give me an recommendation .. Good Luck again, Bill in Indiana
Guest guest
Hello Hoosier Bill! I'm from the NW section of the state. I don't know which procedure the surgeon will use, I was looking at my info and it says he will use what works best for me. I will see him tomorrow and ask him specifically. I will have the surgery done by Dr. Mark Dolan. He's part of the Northwestern Orthopaedic Institute. Angie from IN > > > > > Hello Angie, > > My name is Bill, I'm from Indiana too..
