I have been faithfully taking 2-4 Tblsp. coconut oil daily plus I try not to eat much soy. It's pretty hard, since soy is in so many prepared foods, including mayo and salad dressings. I started making both myself. (So easy) My bloodwork came back as showing my cholesterol as completely normal. And I have a history of high triglycerides and borderline high cholesterol. Plus, my thyroid tests(free t-4 and tsh) showed that I needed to have my synthroid lessened. My doctor took it down from 150 mcg to 125 mcg. I think this is all pretty amazing! Coconut oil is wonderful! I have found Garden of Life coconut oil at vitacost.com for under $8.00 per 16 oz. jar. Their prices are fantastic. Plus, it comes in a glass jar, which I prefer.
